The paper is to do a comparative evaluation on the four major digital theses and dissertations management systems used in the mainland China, which are TRS, TPI, TASi and IDL-ETD. The evaluation analysis is primarily based on the systematic tests on these systems conducted by DUT (Dalian University of Technology) Library. Special focuses are on the distinctive features of each system such as their performance in terms of stability, reliability, openness, capacity of backdating, copyright protection, service monitoring, document conversion and release automation, log management, statistical tabulations, vendor’s technical support and so on. In addition, authors provide a statistics on the choice of academic dissertation system of most 985a) colleges and universities in China.
The evolution of the society and economy has stimulated the development of Knowledge Service (KS), making it an indispensable solution to address future challenges facing libraries and information institutions. However at present, academic research on knowledge service is falling short and its definition is far from clear and complete. As such, this article proposes the Three-dimensional Framework Knowledge Service (TdFKS) for libraries and information institutions based on the knowledge value chain model. By making reliability analysis and mean value analysis of a questionnaire survey result, the article clarifies the structure of the three-dimensional framework and verifies the rationality of the TdFKS.
This paper constructs a model on the factors that influence knowledge transfer in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and validates it via questionnaire surveys. Using 125 valid collected questionnaires, multiple linear regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis showed that five out of the ten factors had a positive effect on knowl-edge transfer effect. The ranking of factor importance, from high to low, was knowledge explicitness, relationship quality, learning intent, advanced transfer activities, and learning capability, which is fairly consistent with positive factors observed in other inter-organizational knowledge transfer researches. Our results also showed that one of the control variables (size of acquired firm) had neither a direct or indirect effect on knowledge transfer in M&A. Additionally, our research found that knowledge distance and degree of M&A integration had a positive influence on knowledge transfer effect at the early stage after M&A, but had a negative influence at the late stage. Based on this research, several suggestions for knowledge transfer in M&A are proposed.
Based on our research and data analysis, we have made an in-depth study of the elements that have had an impact on the archiving of those office records from the automated office management system. In addition, we also offered a few suggestions about archiving such electronic office records more efficiently and effectively from a holistic perspective. In this paper, these authors discussed at some length about the following issues which included but limited to the unique features and requirements about the offline record transmission, the online record archiving, the requirements of electronic archiving stem-ming from the automated office document generating system, how to make the electronic business management system more congenial to its task-specific requirements for business records management and how to protect the system users’ interest during the process of the system’s continuous evolutionary development.
