Since its launch in 2016, the Journal of Data and Information Science (JDIS) has been committed to open access publishing with generous support from the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the National Social Science Fund of China. This support has enabled JDIS to waive Article Processing Charges (APCs) for all published articles.

To ensure the journal’s long-term sustainability and continued development, JDIS will introduce APCs starting January 1, 2026. Manuscripts submitted on or after this date will be subject to the new policy.

To facilitate a smooth transition, JDIS will offer a discounted APC rate during the initial implementation period (2026–2027):

   · €800 for full-length articles (e.g., Original Research, Review Papers)
   · €300 for short articles (e.g., Perspectives, Research Notes)

Please note that manuscripts submitted before December 31, 2025, and accepted for publication in 2026, will remain exempt from APCs under the previous policy.
